Ok I am refinishing a coffee table and has used General Finished gel stain as it was a soft wood that blotched when it was new. Finish went on beautiful and easy. I know GF states that it is a poly/stain and can be left as is but I think with 2 kids it needs protection. Problem is I love the flat look it has now.

I have GF Enduro left over from another project. Problem is I want to tone down the plastic look it has. Any suggestions? I would try a wipe on but they usually cause streaks for me on dark stains

What can I use to tone down the Enduro satin sheen???

Thanks as usual!

I forgot to add….

Is there a compound or product that I could rub on vs sanding or steel wool?

Pumice & soapy water or 600 paper and soapy water.

NO steel wool on waterborne materials. Use a Scotchbright pad w/soapy water or Clint’s idea above will work just fine too.
