I found several of these HSS steel blanks at a store that sells hardware odds and ends from close outs and old stock, and places that are closing.

2$ a blank. I bought them all and there were only 4.

Handle is walnut. I may turn a larger handle for this one. I plan to make a smaller scraper, this one, and something that will get me angles.

The pitch is 35 degrees.

Works well.

Druid, I just was out getting some wood at my lumber yard and on the way home I saw a bunch of shops like these. One was only open 3 days a week. I think I’ve gotten every bit of tool steel they had though. If I ever see a big box I’ll buy it and mail it out to you guys for postage.
