A friend wants to give me a work bench. The bench has 1 inch dog holes. All of my dog accessories are 3/4 inch. I do not know where 1 inch holes come from. Is there someone who makes an adapter to convert down to 3/4 ” hole. Since there is like 20 holes I really do not want to spend the time to make them myself.
Thanks for the help!!

Remove the top and make another with 3/4” dog holes?

You could always plug the holes with dowel and redrill with a 3/4” bit.

You could just simply use the 1 inch dowels period.

Doesn’t he have 1 inch dogs for the bench?

Maybe drill 3/4 inch holes on the other side and add a Veritas surface vise.

3 things popped into my head, all look they were already covered. Does the guy who gave the table to you have 1” dogs he could give/sell you? If not, a cheap/quick alternative is a 1” dowel. If you already have 3/4” dogs you want to use, take the 1” dowel and plug the holes and redrill.

If you know someone with a metal lathe get him to make you some. A dog is a simple part.

Another potential option: can you just drill new 3/4” holes for your existing dog accessories? If the bench has an end vise, you might have to move that over to align with the new holes, or you could get a Wonder Dog or some such devise. That way, you’d have the flexibility to use either 3/4” or 1” dog accessories.
