This is embarassing. I took the knives out of my jointer and I cannot recall which way they go in. Does the bevel go to the right or left when one is facing the machine from the outer edge, e.g., away from the fence.
The jointer is and old Delta-Rockwell 8’’.

Uhhh?? Which side of the bevel?
Low side to the left, high side to the right unless you’re in the Southern Hemisphere. Everything is topsy turvy there.

the bevel go to the left. blade rotation is clockwise.and the bevel goes to the backside of the rotation
