I’ve been looking at dado blade sets and was wondering what is the difference in a regular dado blade set and a box joist set?

I have both, the dado set can be adjusted to quite a range of widths, whereas the box joint set can only be adjusted in two widths, 1/4” and 3/8”, it makes for easier setup each time you setup for box joints, because there is no adjustment except to turn the blades around depending on what size box joint you want, if you get the dado set, you have a wider range of widths to choose from, although it has to be adjusted each time you use it.

My understanding is that the BJJ will make flat bottoms and not all dadoes will do that.
