Has anybody heard of a helical rotor for this planer. I have some gnarly wood I need to plan and think I could use one.

I know there is a Byrd head, or at least have heard of it, but do not know anyone actually using it.

375 or 735? I have the info for buying the one for the DW735. I was complaining about the blades going fast too quick and the guy at the Woodcraft store up in Tucson said he had installed one and liked it because they run so much lumber through it. I’ve got an email from someone at Steel City Toolworks that says the model # head I need is M1304902A; cost is $249.99 plus approx $25 for shipping. That quote was from late last year though so I don’t know if they’re raised their prices.

A buddy Lumberjock, JL7 aka Jeff, has done the Byrd shelix head conversion to his DW735 and wrote a blog.
