Topic tags/keywords: plane question

OK I’ll try this for about the fifth time. #1 I know about planes what I’ve read on LJ’s and A little on line research. #2 at a garage sale on a whim I bought 2 planes (photo album to follow) #3 plane 1 appears to be a Baily (not stanley-bailey) transition plane with wooden base and seemingly flat sole. mildlt rusted but very cleanable. I guess this dates to somewhere between 1870-1900 (according to one article) #4 plane 2 is an all metal block plane in good condition marked only with “made in USA” and the number41144.

My intent is to sell them for either a collector or someone who wants to use them. Should I clean them, sharpen the irons ? anyone care to speculate on a fair value either as tools or as antique’s
Any help or speculation will be appreciated and If any of my date is wrong please educate me. thanks for any help (or critque)

The block plane is a Stanley low-angle plane. A 60 1/2 —It’s worth
about $15-40 on Ebay.

I don’t know much about transitional planes. This one looks like
a common pattern and may be worth $20 or so.

The transitional looks like a #26 or a #27.

From what I’ve seen on e-bay $10 may be more in line given the condition.

Probably not a great value as a collector, but a lot of fun to refurb and use…
