OK I’ll try this for about the fifth time. #1 I know about planes what I’ve read on LJ’s and A little on line research. #2 at a garage sale on a whim I bought 2 planes (photo album to follow) #3 plane 1 appears to be a Baily (not stanley-bailey) transition plane with wooden base and seemingly flat sole. mildlt rusted but very cleanable. I guess this dates to somewhere between 1870-1900 (according to one article) #4 plane 2 is an all metal block plane in good condition marked only with “made in USA” and the number41144. My intent is to sell them for either a collector or someone who wants to use them. Should I clean them, sharpen the irons ? anyone care to speculate on a fair value either as tools or as antique’s http://s297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/rbrearey/planes/ -- RTB.
