A friend of mine offered me a Powermatic thicknes planer a couple of years ago. Just ran into him yesterday and reminded him. He said he still had it and to come over and pick it up. In those 2 years he had upgraded again. When I saw it, I reminded him that this was not the planer he had 2 years ago. This is the one he was using 2 years ago. He said to go ahead and take it as it was just sitting in his storage locker. He said it was working perfect when he took it out of service, but I should rotate the blades on the helical head before using. Total Price: Zero, Zip, Nada!! He is a good friend, and I guess I owe him one now. He also tried to give me a really nice shaper table, but I told him I didn’t have room for it. It’s now sitting on one of my work trucks and I will have it delivered to my shop tomorrow. I’ll get more pics then and let everyone know how it works.

There aren’t enough “YOU SUCKS” in the world for this.

You really SUCK! No one ever gives me stuff like that! Well I did get a very clean Super 900 RAS for free some years ago but it doesn’t compare to that beauty! Congrats! And will your buddy give me the shaper? Lol!

I have not even had time to track down the model number. I know I need to get a manual for it as my friend is not good with paperwork. I have left the machine at my work warehouse sitting on the lift truck waiting to be delivered tomorrow. I think I am suffering from separation anxiety!

Looks like a Powermatic 20” with a Byrd Shelix cutterhead, those are close to $4,300 new today.

I wish i had better words in my vocabulary to describe how much you suck but alas i do not, so like Shamp said, YOU SUCK!

Also, if there are any friend applications out there, ive got a pen, and can send my friend resume out, it reads pretty well:

Name: Chris Stef
Location: Central CT

Likes: Woodworking, vintage tools, golf, fishing, beer, whiskey, D&F jokes
Dislikes: Long drawn out stories, gossip, cereal slurpers

Ambitions / Goals: To befriend guys that give away tools that are worth more than my current vehicle.

Skills: Ninja moves, Loud morning farts, Beer belching, Oragami

If i can be of any service please feel free to PM me. I thank you for your time.

You’ve got a nice friend and a nice planer. Life is grand.

YOU SUCK doesn’t even begin to describe this one!!!

But since I can already see missing parts I suggest you pass on the deal as it’s obviously defective. I can probably be convinced to take it off your hands.

(FYI…looking at the second picture it appears the 2 table locking knobs are missing. You’ll definitely want to find replacements because that table will flex under load.)

”I know I need to get a manual for it as my friend is not good with paperwork.”

Wow, your friend sounds like a complete schmuck. I hate when my friends give me thousands of dollars worth of tools and don’t bother giving me the manuals. That’s by far the worst situation anyone’s ever been in.

You do suck.

However, enjoy your new toy!

Chrisstef – I too like woodworking, vintage tools, golf, and fishing. I gave up beer but do have an occasional N/A beer. Don’t know about Ninja moves though. Thanks all, for the pat on the back. There will be a cost involved in this though. I have to run another service to this machine as all of my other equipment has 20amp 220vac lines. I’ll have to run a 30amp for this beast. I did a brief look on line with my phone to try and find a manual but did not have much luck. I will look today while I am here at work and see if I can find one. Maybe if you all are not too jealous, someone can point me in the right direction.

I need more friends that have industrial quality machines lying around because they have replaced them with even larger industrial machines.
