I’m having a bit of an issue also. Once I sign in, I remain signed in for as long as my computer is running, but shutting down causes me to have to log in again. This has proved true on both my office and home computer. I have cookies enabled, and am not having the issue with any other sites, so I know it has something to do with Martin’s setup. I’m running IE6 on both machines in question. Not a real problem… just sort of odd. -- Charlie M. "Woodworking - patience = firewood" |

Everything is working fine on my side running on a Mac with Safari as a browser. I did had to log-in the first time over after the merge-in but afterwards it keeps me logged in as usual. -- Jojo, shopless in Kyoto · http://www.japanese-woodworking-tools.com/ · http://twitter.com/japanesetools |

I guess it is a situation peculiar to only a few certain setups. Oddly enough, I just restarted my computer and am still logged in. This morning, however, I was not. Go figure…. -- Charlie M. "Woodworking - patience = firewood" |

My experience is similar to Charlies, needing to log back in, except I’m running Firefox 3.0.3 |

You’d need to login again after the “massive merge” (good term ha). Then you should be kept logged in. Try cleaning/removing all your cookies.. only http://lumberjocks.com domain cookies if possible in your browser. And then sign back in. I tested in IE7 and 6, Firefox 3+, Google Chrome. Report any problems here please. -- Martin, http://lumberjocks.com | My Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/people/Martin_Sojka/1357216976 |

I’m still having to login each time, I’m actually on a brand new computer and first time on LJ was after the update. Running IE7 on Win XP w/SP2. -- Tim D. - Woodstock, GA |

Tim, Try this. Open your browser. Close the dialog box. I think this will fix your problem. If it does, you can mail me a check. -- Scott - Chico California http://chicowoodnut.home.comcast.net |

okay.. I sent PM to Derek for further troubleshooting.. will keep you informed. Since the problem persists in Firefox it may be even be some Firewall setting hmm. Tim, yes try what Scott suggested.. nothing like that would be required by default but who knows exactly which messy IE privacy settings are turned on or off in each browser install ;) I’m also running same setup “IE7 on Win XP w/SP2” for testing and works flawlessly. -- Martin, http://lumberjocks.com | My Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/people/Martin_Sojka/1357216976 |

Martin’s PM gave me the clue I need to track the problem down… Turns out my firewall was rejecting the cookie for reasons known only to itself. (I think my last update may have reset the cookie settings now that I think about it.) I reset my options to what they should have been and now everything works as it should. All better now, thanks Martin! -- Derek, Bremerton WA -- |

I had no problem after logging on the first time. I am now getting people welcoming me to the site under my re-furbisher name. My email address changed between joining LJ’s and the other sites. I am not sure if I am listed twice somewhere, I haven’t taken the time to look for the other me yet. -- Ron Central, CA |

I’m still having the problem. What is weird is that I stay logged in during the day, even if I shut down and restart my computer. But after an overnight shutdown, I have to log in again. The problem is identical on both home and work computers.. both running XP and IE6. I cleared cookies and added LJ to my trusted sites, but the behavior persists. Thoughts anyone? -- Charlie M.
