Topic tags/keywords: sharpening refurbishing

I inherited this thing years ago, before being truly bitten by the woodworking bug, and even replaced a broken gear to get it all up and running. Never having learned to use it, it ended up in storage through a few apartment moves, and I recently got it back. That same gear shattered the first time I turned it on, and now replacements are not available.

So I figure this thing’s headed to the tool graveyard, but I figured I’d ask if anyone had any inspiration for anything useful that could be done with the remains. The motor will certainly be repurposed, and the chisel guide is all there, cheap little thing that it is, so they’re not getting tossed—heck, that’s the only sharpening related equipment I own.
