I have a small mini wood lathe, which has a control box for the revolution of the main spindle. It has only one spindle direction. I made some simple modification in order to run the spindle in reverse direction. Cut the cable between the control box and the motor. Installed a connector to end of the cable on the control box side.
Installed a double wall outlet on the end of the cable on the motor side. The cable goes from one outlet to the motor as before ( wire connections: black-black, white-white). The wires were changed at the other outlet, so I have the wire connection: black-white, white-black.
I have to plug the connector to the first outlet= CW direction of the spindle, plug the connector to the second outlet= CCW direction of the spindle.
No more end grain problem !
