Topic tags/keywords: coupon grizzly subscriptions

Does such a thing exist? Where would I find one? I only have electronic subscription to FineWW so I wonder what else I’m missing.

I’ll bet they won’t use the 20% off Harbor Freight coupons in my motorcycle mags….

I was at my hardwood store and they sell some equipment that is what Grizzly buys from. He said the brand was something like Shop Fox or some other brand we normally don’t like as much as we like Grizzly stuff. Anyway I have no idea if he’s right or not because I don’t own either brand to compare.

Anyway he says that Grizzly just cheapens this other brand and sells on the strength of their reputation but the parent brand has better stuff on it than Grizzly.

You won’t find Grizzly coupons though, I’ve looked. But now I am tempted to buy from the parent company instead of Grizzly. Who ever that may be.

Grizzly coupons are available on the front of a recent magazine. WWJ I think. 10% off $300 or more purchase. Through 4/30 I think.

Yes, ShaneA is correct. Woodworker’s Journal has a 10% coupon with their April issue. LJ’er “bladedust” gave me his and I placed an order last Sat. morning. Unfortunately, UPS has lost two of my boxes. See my recent thread for more details.

If you live near one of their facilities, I highly recommend just picking up your order even if you have to rent a Uhaul.

thanks, guys. Worth driving around and picking up a magazine.

I thought Shop Fox and Grizz were the same (i.e. from the same factory) and I also suspect that Jet, PM, and other brands all come out of the same factory – seems the tools look mostly the same with some minor detail differences (Baileigh included). Maybe I’m wrong there. And no, I don’t believe that the some folks producing the same machinery on the same line would produce a yellow colored machine “with more care” than a green, white, or blue one. the other brands MIGHT have tighter manufacturing and QC requirements – but I’d have to see it to believe it.

In Little Rock Arkansas local dealers are not to be found – so really, mail order is my only option and given that if needed I can drive to Grizz if I ever REALLY needed satisfaction from an issue it’s doable.

Griz Springfield is @6hr drive. Not too bad, but not too good, either. I drove 4-5 hrs to pick up my SS, so I wonder why I’m so anxious to let someone else dump a jointer and possibly band saw out of the shipping truck?

I’m also guessing in person you might be able to negotiate a deal if you buy 2 tools????? Maybe throw in a spare set of knives or a good BS blade.

Doubt they will “negotiate” with you. The coupon may only be for subscribers. Not sure it would be in news stand copies. I too think Shop Fox and Grizz are same basic equipment, but I am no expert. I think I have one (coupon), I would have to look. I may be willing to pass it on, if I can find it. I think I saw on another thread where a purchase and review of the new Grizz tool would be required in exchange for the coupon. Seems fair to me.

Believe it or not I can’t fi d a WWJ on a stand here. Home Depot, Barnes and noble, lowes. Nada.

10% is nothing to sneeze at. I’ll see if I can call WWJ and get the April mag shipped with a script.

The coupons were not put on the mag stand issues, only to subscribers. Best bet, spend $8-12 a year and get a subscription so when they come out again, and they will, you have a shot. Besides what would you rather read in the toilet? The phone with small print? OR a magazine with fair sized print? (laughing)

Anyone have a coupon they’d be willing to share with a poor beginning hapless hobbyist with 5 (yes, FIVE) kids?

I gave away my 10% off coupon on here about 3 weeks ago. It was on the front of my magazine.

I pulled up the instruction manual for the Shopfox DC and found it to be identical to the Harbor Freight DC, but it costs about $150 more than the HF after shipping.

6 hours from Little Rock to Springfield? Takes me less than 4…

I second the advice of others, if you’re buying a tool from Grizzly you definitely want to drive up there and get it yourself. If nothing else it’s just worth it to look around their showroom!

Inside the front cover of the woodworkers journal I found on the stand at Chapters is a discount code in very small print in the bottom left hand corner of a Grizzly add. This issue says display till June. It says something like “mention this code when you order”. It does not say how much it is worth. I cannot get it to work on there website but have not tried to call in. Does anyone know if it works or how much it is for. I want a G0661.
