Don’t know, anyone who’s dead, let us know so we get you on the “in memoriam” jocks page…

Seriously though, I don’t think anyone can know the answer to that… how would we know if they’ve passed away, or just decided they don’t want to participate on LJ anymore?

The missing ones, maybe dead are not posting anymore, maybe a clue.

Noticed grandpa has past. Wondering if others have been forgotten, or missed.

It is not very often that anyone advises us that an LJ has passed away. The families are not usually involved in LJs so we do not hear from them. The only times we get a message is usually from a fellow LJ who had a close relationship with the deceased LJ.

I wondered the same thing…
Frank is almost certainly gone, for instance… He was quite sick…
Without last names, there’s no way to check the obituaries…

Such is the ephemeral nature of membership here. Unwept, Unhonored, and Unsung…..

i know when they do find out they usually shut the person’s page down because in the begining there was a problem where someone’s wife was attacked via this website…people all started sharing well wishes…some creep got a last name…got their home address and then knocked on the door saying they were a jock…

It was very sad…so when Martin finds out he tries to shut down all access to e-mail info, names, etc….

Good question Dan, I was wondering about that just the other day.

Maybe we should have a policy where any jock that stops posting or never posts at all should be considered deceased, we seem to be carrying a lot of dead wood (workers) here.
Maybe no posts for 3 months will automatically light the funeral pyre.

I don’t think that you can just consider a person deceased if he/she quits posting. Some people have health problems or other priorities that keep them from the computer. It is a tough bit of info to find out and would be a big job to monitor because spouses don’t usually get on here. You would most likely have to get the info from an LJ friend so…...................keep in touch with someone for sure….......use the local buddy system with both of you on here and we’ll have the problem solved. And when your buddies dies..get a new one!!

Dying is not so bad, my issue was Hell sent me back with the message “DO NOT RETURN” and requested postage due. (Laughing)

Anyone else bothered by the dead Lumberjocks who continue to post here?

It’s not true. I’m still alive. Just been on a long holiday. LOL
