Topic tags/keywords: question forums woodworkers resource

I follow three different woodworking forums. There is a wealth of information available in the forums and an opportunity for the woodworker to provide information to fellow woodworkers. How many forums do you follow or play an active role in?

I’m currently following 7, but I may be trimming that down. I had only started on that many within the last several years, and for a long time I only participated on 2-3.

I visit LJs at least once a day. If I’m looking for something and can’t find what i’m looking for by using the LJ search box, I might cast a broader net with an Internet search. I don’t regularly participate in any other online forums (fora).

Pretty much just here. Occasionally I head over to Canadian Woodworking for stuff specific to my region, but other than that I like what LJs has to offer the most.

LJ is still the easiest to navigate.. and definitely the most social of the wood forums I have visited, but I am also active on 2 more … a painting forum and a sculpting forum… but mostly just for information. LumberJocks is all about being social though… this is the best site around.

Actually I’m about done here, it’s not worth the aggrevation. Some people just can’t have a debate about something without throwing childish personal attacks, SamuraiSaw is the biggest offender, and the management here doesn’t seem to care. So I’ll take my years of experience elsewhere, or maybe I’ll just hang up forums all together.

LJ is my first site visit every day.
There are several others, but I find more content and questions that I might help answer here.
Other are for more reference.

Active on three sites, watching a couple others. Been kicked off one, and couldn’t care less about that site.

IF by always agreeing with sawucker’s views, does that make someone “Grown up” and not childish? Sounds like sawsucker would feel right at home on WOOD’s little Kingdom of Merlin Kermit.

Congratulations chuckie, you’ve managed to completely screw up yet another thread.

Well LJ is a new one for me – although have been reading posts here for a while. It is my fourth, but only really active on one other forum.

Looks like I stirred up a bit of a hornets nest here.

Not sure how I did that!

Between business and hobby interests, I’m on more forums than I can easily count, but this is my first woodworking one. Considering how much time I’ve been spending here lately, I’d better not sign up for any more!

I’m still trying to find that one forum that really works for me. This site is super busy but
posts get buried in the deluge really quick. Even so, there is just a ton of useful info here.

Just kind of an inpersonal experience mostly for me. But part of that is probably because I’m
sort of new to the hobby and haven’t got the shop set up yet . Once I start cranking out some
projects maybe things will change.
