Anybody made a Krenov style shooting plane. If so, would you share some particulars.? How well does it perform? Thanks Ron -- Ron in Kokomo |

45Deg. Ron. Performs well if built properly with a Hock or similar thick iron with a chipbreaker. I enjoy that it’s lightweight. Mine isn’t a shooting plane and it doesn’t have a hock blade or a chipbreaker and it has a rounded bottom and radiused blade for planing bucket staves. Neverthless it still works very well, so doing it the right way has to be even better. They are easy to make and I doubt you would be disappointed, but you will never know until you either build one or try someone else’s out. -- Mike, an American living in Norway. |
