My sawyer told me about a resource he uses that many of you use, I think I may have even been the one to publicize the place initially. A lot of you knew about it, but no one had ever shared it with the community.

The site is called HobbitHouse wood, here is a link http://www.hobbithouseinc.com/personal/woodpics/

It site is run by woodworker Paul Hines. He is a hobbiest and hasn’t been turning much lately. I emailed him to tell him what an inspiration and educational experience his site was, and I’ve donated to it via the donate button. I do get a lot of info from this site.

Anyway, he and I have been emailing a while and he offered to send me some blanks he made so I could practice on them. I got them today.

As you can see, these will be beautiful once turned and polished. He uses many different woods in his glue-ups.
Can’t wait to turn one of these. I think I’ll keep one the way it is so I can emulate the design approach.

That’s a great site I’ve been recommending it for years.
