I am going to the wood working show in Tampa this weekend. I am looking at a Rikon band saw. Does anyone know if Woodcraft matches pricing from Highland Woodworking. HW has the Rikon 10” band saw for 199.99 and if they will match that price I will pick one up this weekend. I will save shipping!

Don’t know if they will match Highland Woodworking or not, but I got my 10” Rikon from Woodcraft a couple years ago for $199; on sale.

Couldn’t hurt to ask.

I love that little saw, by the way. I still want a big saw, like over a 16” for re-saw work, but I will keep the little Rikon for curvy work.

The Tampa Woodcraft guys are a good bunch. If they can do it, they will.

Why not just call them ahead of time and ask?

Jim , thanks for the info. I just called sears and seeing this product is not sold by sears they can not match the price. I am trying to find a place that price matches to save on shipping

Have you checked out Amazon to see if they do price matching?

You certainly won’t go wrong buying from Highland. Great guys/gals, and super customer service.

You really could do a lot worse that buying from Highlands… perhaps I’m partial because they’re in my back yard, but the service there is always top notch and they’re good guys.

Tax on $200 in Tampa would be about $13, vs the $57 to ship it to Tampa, that’s not a trivial amount so I don’t really blame you (heck I’d probably do the same). If you’re interested in the 10-305, you should check out the Craftsman 21400. It’s just a rebadged 10-305. I toyed around with the idea of getting a second smaller bandsaw for smaller blades and compared the two pretty extensively and couldn’t find any differences.

It looks to be on sale for $179.99 on the Sears website right now, with free shipping to boot. If you use the coupon code ‘searstools’, you can get an extra $15 off (bringing the price down to $164.99). That coupon gives $15 off $150 or $35 off $200, so if I were you, I’d throw in another $20 of filler (who doesn’t need another wrench) to get it for free.

Now that I look at it, I’m wishing this thread never popped up. I talked myself out of it because I’m tight on room, but $165 is really hard to pass up!

I’m not sure they will match the price or not. However, I can say that I buy from both companies a lot and Highland Woodworking is a good place to do business. Woodcraft is too. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from either company.

I have also checked out the 10” Craftsman (Rikon Clone) and purely because I have the Rikon and was curious. I can’t find any difference either, other than the paint scheme. Even stranger since Sears also sells the Rikon. They must have a really weird retail sales agreement.

I don’t think they still sell it ,but just before I got my Rikon 10” saw, Sears had a 12” Rikon clone on clearance sale for $199. That was the saw I really wanted, but they sold out before I got there and that’s when I went for the Rikon out of frustration.

They do sell the Craftsman clone of the bottom end Rikon 14” saw without a closed base and without a fence for just $350. That’s what I would get if I didn’t already have a small band saw. All I want now is a big saw, >16”.

Thanks GTBUZZ for the coupon code. Thanks to everyone that had helped with answers to this post. I checked the craftsman 10” band saw and to a tee it is just like the Rikon, but cheaper in price. I ordered it tonight and gtbuzz gave me a coupon code it was on sale for 179.99 and with 35.00 off , wow what a deal ! Thanks again everyone especially gtbuzz. Know the wait starts
