i’ve almost completed and overarm pin router jig. i couldn’t quite afford maple, there were a lot of hidden expenses that went into this thing, and i knew from the beginning there were going to be with Hardware, some steel i had to get, washers, screws, you get it, etc. i made it out of poplar, and i think it’s going to work out great.
my question is…. do i need to put some type of finish on it, is it necessary? i would prefer something user friendly as i’m quite new to the finishing aspect of woodworking. it’s one of those topics that puts me to sleep and i have a hard time trying to figure it all out cause it bores me to death…
i’m quite proud of this one, and i think it’s gonna be an awesome addition. i want it to last a VERY long time, as a lot of time and effort went into making this thing, and making it right. i’m open to any suggestions, and any will be greatly appreciated. i’ve already ran into a lot of fine folks on here. some knowledgable and talented folks nonetheless.
thanks for any input.
here’s a pic of the jig, not the one i built
