Thinning the herd a little. Neither of these are showpieces, but the are very good users. The only reason I am selling is because I have multiples of each.

Stanley Bailey No. 6: $45 shipped, US only
I think this is a type 19 plane. Hence the painted handle and knob. This plane has been re-japanned by a previoius owner. And I do say “japanned”. It’s not enamel. The stuff is thick and tough! Only beef I have, is that the shade of black is a little lighter than stanley black. Wood is also painted black.
Like most wartime planes, the casting is for real. Very thick and hefty. This the plane that made me appreciate the no. 6.

Millers Falls No 8: $30 shipped, US only
Size of a Stanley no. 3. Great little smoother. I love Millers fall and can’t stop buying them. This has all the signs of a type 2, but it doesn’t have the cocobolo tote and knob, just stained hardwood. This is cool little plane though.

Both are sharp, tuned, and ready to go. No chips, cracks of any kind. Paypal only for payment. PM if interested. If the don’t sell, I might take offers, or put them on feebay. Thanks, Red

Dan, how does the no. 8 compare with my union 4g? May be interested, that’s a good price. Would that work well as a final smoother with the 4g set up to take off a bit more before?

Dan, If the No. 8 is still available I’d like to swing by this week/weekend and pick it up. I work until 4:30 each day, but could hop across the river after that. Otherwise I should be around this weekend.

Great prices on a couple of real nice planes. I’m a big fan of the MF planes. On the #6, I suspect that it is not a Type 17. If I’m not mistaken, the Type 17’s had the bakelight adjuster wheel and had steel caps on the knob/tote. Still, a very nice plane at a very nice price.

Sounds like Maroon snatched em up. I’ll let ya’ll know if anything changes.

sikrap- your right, probably a T19 or so. I’m not as good with these later types.

Camps- I’ll keep you in mind for any others come up, since your local and all.
