Hey Guys, and all you pros out there, I have a quick question.
My shop is not yet completed, but I am starting on my woodworking bench. The frame is all cut and dry fitted,
My question: I plan to place dowels in my mortises & tendons. (DO I PUT THE DOWELS IN AT THE SAME TIME I AM GLUING UP PARTS OF THE FRAME OR DO I PLACE THE DOWELS AFTER THE GLUE-UPS HAVE SET OVER NIGHT?
I plan on using 3/8” wallnut dowels in yellow pine.
My first choice was to glue-up both sides at the same time, clamp and let set overnight, using Titebond II glue, then the next day drill, and glue my dowels and pound them in, until they bottom out, and cut flush, plane and finish.
Can I do it all at the first glue-up.
I would appreciate all you night owls out there to have the answer real quick.
Waiting for the correct way to accomplish this minor task.
