Topic tags/keywords: planer jointer

This is listed for sale by our local woodworking shop on consignment for $550. Arbor (Italian made) PFS2600, 11” Jointer/planner/horizontal borer, 2HP 220v. I don’t have a jointer or planner, is this something I should consider?
I just saw ithe listing so have not seen it or asked about condition yet.
Thanks.

I don’t know anything about combination machines or that brand but just a 10 – 12inch jointer of any decent quality would be hard to find at that price. If it’s not junk I think it’s a good price.

You’d want to look at the mortising table and make sure
there is a chuck.

A machine marked 2600 would be a 260mm capacity
machine, which is 10.25” wide.

The arbor on those machines has to reverse for mortising
so testing the electric controls is important.

...looks kind of like the jointer/planer portion of
a Zincken Compact combination machine.

You’ll never be able to get parts for it so better
make sure it comes complete.

Other than that it seems like a good buy for the
capacity and looks like a robust machine with
plenty of iron and steel in it.

muleskinner & Loren – thank you for taking time to reply. It will allow me to ask some more specific questions. Loren, your comment on parts is a great watch out since I haven’t found anything on the web about this unit.
