Topic tags/keywords: blade

After doing some research and reading Knotscott’s recommendations around Lumberjocks, I’m ready to get a decent blade for my G1023RL. The blade it came with is pretty bogus. I am not good enough at woodworking to justify a dedicated rip/cross/laminate blade. I need one that will do a good job at them all. The Infinity Super General 40 tooth was a highly recommended blade. I also am going to need a dado set.

Infinity has the 8” Dadonator + Super General combo deal for $299. I have a coupon which would bring this to $274. Link

I can get just the Super-General for $98 and buy a different dado set somewhere else. What should I do?

Is this a good deal? Does anyone know of any good saw blade sales/deals going on right now?

I absolutely love this blade ,it’s been over two years of moderate use and still cuts beautifully.
The dadonator has good reviews,I have Freud SD206 ,paid under $100,very happy with the set.

I’ve been very happy with my 8” dadonator. Makes very clean cuts. Can’t compare to any others, but you won’t be unhappy with it.

I was using a Super General blade, which worked very well. I stopped using it to switch to a thin kerf blade; my hybrid saw just didn’t have enough power. My only caution with the super general is the coating. I’ve been using a Rockler blade cleaning solution, and after soaking for a while the coating on the blade started coming off. It didn’t come off entirely, just partially. Just be careful.

When I switched to thin kerf I bought some of Infinity’s nickel coated blades and I really like them too.

The dadonator is a nice set, but for blades I’ve never felt the need to spend more than $20 on a blade. They work great.

I’d go for it if you’re looking for a top shelf general purpose blade….both the Super General and the Dadonator are the best in class of their respective types that I’ve tried to date. I think you’ll have a hard time finding anything that eclipse the performance of either.

I used a $15 off $75 coupon today and got the super general for $90 shipped.

I’ll wait on the dadonator until a better sale.

I can’t wait to get out there and start using it.

Have your say...
