I have a pecan tree that I have had to cut down because of Ike and growing into the power lines. The tree is special to the wife and I and we really didn’t want to cut it down. Has anyone cut their own lumber from a log? The log is 9ft long and has about a 12 inch base. I want to keep the bottom 3ft of it. The rest I will give to a friend who does alot of turning, to make bowls, vases, or what ever. I have a 12 inch band saw and the max cut is 7 inches. Can I do it with the band saw and a resaw blade? Any other ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated…Vic -- My mind is like lightning...one brilliant flash and then it's gone. |
