Topic tags/keywords: question

People says that our country was built on freedom and justice and other good and noble ideas.
I do not necessarily disagree with that but I personally believe that our country was built on 2×4, duct tape and bailing wire.
Talking about duct tape, do you know of one which does not fall into dust after a few years?
(This is not for duct I am building in my shop right now , for that i use aluminum tape)
Thank you.

The tape that is based on polyethylene plastic is the stuff that turns to dust. It’s the effect of UV radiation on this type plastic.

I am not positive, but I believe the Gorilla brand of tape is UV protected. I know I have had some outside for 3 years without any degradation at all.

Sorry Bert, can’t help you.

But I have heard that we only need a roll of duct tape and a can of WD40 in our toolbox.
If it’s stuck and should move, use the WD40.
If it moves and should be stuck, use the duct tape.

And anyway, men don’t want to use everlasting duct tape or we would all be out of work in no time.

Bert, it doesn’t matter to me. No duct tape in my shop. Really. I promise. Well, there may be a partial roll somewhere…

I am not a big fan of duct tape either, but this time I need some.
