So you’re smart enough to figure out how to make that cool project, sign up for LJ, and post pictures…

But you can’t figure out how to rotate the picture before posting it? Really?

It’s really simple. Freeware applications abound. Windoze even lets you do it now.

I don’t get why you’d take all the trouble for all the rest, but not figure out how to rotate the picture…

Well everything else is upside down or under water, etc. etc. these days. LOL! Your right, there is plenty of free photo editing software out there so there is no reason for the flipped photos.

For many, it’s an issue with how you take the image on your phone. If taken in a vertical orientation and uploaded to LJs, the image posts sideways.

For those needing it, open the image on your phone/iPad to edit it. Rotate it one way, rotate it back, and then save it. Nothing will change with the photo, but the software now sets a priority on how you wish it to be oriented…and therefore when you upload it to LJs, it will be the way you want it.

OH….I get it now. It’s a conspiracy to drive me crazy! I could never figure out why such talented smart people couldn’t do such a simple task…

I’m on to you guys!

I found that on my Samsung phone, if I crop the image, no matter how much or how little, it will register properly when I post it. Personally, I hate cell phone pics (mainly due to out of focus images) but I have been guilty of being the lazy guy also…especially when I have a $4K camera setting on my desk. :-(

If I’m going to take the time and effort to create a project, and share it with a large audience on Lumberjocks, I darn sure want to make it look as good as possible in the photos. You can buy a decent digital camera for under $100, and combine it with free software to really give your project the exhibition it deserves. I cannot believe how many really nice projects are posted with blurry cellphone photos.
