You would be hard pressed to find a better saw for $225. Take the plunge, I’m sure you’ll be happy you did. |

++1. the 4511 is like a granite topped junior cabinet saw. 1.5h hp motor but cabinet mounted trunions. and it can be tricked out like this: http://lumberjocks.com/projects/58567 BTW, have you checked ebay for the part number? often times parts at much better prices show up there. -- there's a solution to every problem.......you just have to be willing to find it. |

knotscott, I tried to locate parts for either of the steel citys but couldn’t find much. Do how to get parts for them? |
|

The Steel City 35925 and 35930 had the same guts (likely others too…possibly the 35926). The Craftsman 22116 was also made by Steel City/Orion and has the same guts. Steel City shows it as key #209, part #SC10183, arbor shaft. I’d contact Steel City’s support and ask them about it. $225 is a good deal for that saw, but it is a lot of an arbor. You could also see what it’d cost to have a machinist turn one for you. Since that part was part of a recall does anyone know if there’s still a chance it’s covered? -- Happiness is like wetting your pants...everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.... |

Since that part was part of a recall does anyone know if there’s still a chance it’s covered? i had that same thought, but dismissed it as the OP isn’t the saw’s original owner. however, the recall was safety related, so that could be the hook he uses to get ridgid to cover it’s replacement. just not sure what’s meant by the opening post statement: “mine wasn’t in the recall.”? -- there's a solution to every problem.......you just have to be willing to find it. |

Yeah, it could be that the serial number of his R4511 did not have a defective arbor according their parts inventory, but it’s darn suspicious that he has one with a broken arbor….not a common part to have trouble with. -- Happiness is like wetting your pants...everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.... |

I had an R4511…I wasn’t the original owner….Rigid sent a tech over and replaced the arbor with no questions asked. |

I called ridgid this morning to see if it was included in the recall no such luck. The guy wasn’t helpful. I did contact Steel city and it is $25 for the arbor with them. I am going to order it and hope it is right. Thanks for all the ideas I can’t believe how much help lumberjocks members have been. |

Probably not much help at all. I owned the 4511 and the 3650 at the same time. The 3650 outperformed the 4511 which of course lowered my overall opinion of the 4511. When upgrades came available, the 4511 was the first to go. I probably would have liked the 4511 more had I not owned the 3650. Two things I recall bugged me, the harbor on the 4511 required lube every other week or so or it would begin squeeking, and if not tended to, it would worsen quite a bit placing extra strain on the motor. The 3650 was also noticeably stronger. Feed rates had to be slower on the 45 Like u, I would certainly try the steel city part. Not sure it will work. I think a good ts can be had on CL for 400.00 or less. And the 4511 has a nice motor that could potentially be useful for other things in the future. -- Jerry Nettrour, San Antonio, www.topqualitycabinets.net |

I can’t say anything about how the 4511 stacks up to a 3650 because I’ve never used a 3650, but I can say that my 4511 has been a great table saw and I haven’t once had to lube the arbor on it. -- "hold fast to that which is good" |

I had a R4511 for several years, it was a great saw, I never had to lube anything. -- Bert |
