Reminds me of a Gilliom bandsaw (18”) I built 25 or 30 years ago. The main problem was getting sufficient rigidity in the column. I had to reenforce it substantially. Even then, it couldn’t stand a lot of blade tension.

Gilliom made this and other power tool kits—cabinet type TS, drum sander, jointer—don’t remember what all. I understand they still exist, but are hard to find, as they have no online presence.

Nice band saw. But I am surprised with its price.

That is interesting, but there’s no way they should get anything close to $500 for it, I think. I’ve seen large old manufactured saws go for much less. Amateur pricing strikes again.
