Andrew Betschman informed me of the Woodworking Show http://www.thewoodworkingshows.com/shows/columbus.htm

coming to Columbus March 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. I will be attending the 3rd since I have to work the other days. I was just wondering if any fellow lumberjocks will be there. If you are and recognize me, say hi! It would be great to meet some of you in person. I think I will be easier to pick out than most of you since I will be in the minority…assuming it will be mostly men there.

I may be there Friday, but with the weather warning (possible icing Wed/Thur) I saw this morning it’s still very much up in the air. This will be after a 4 year absence due to disinterest on my part. The last time I went it has shrank so much it didn’t seem worth the 100 mile drive, and gas was “only” $2+/gal. at that time.

Yeah, gas prices are horrible! Luckily I only live about an hr away, and my car is pretty good on gas, and has AWD so nothing will stop me! Lol I have never been to any kind of woodworking show/expo, etc so I am really excited to see what they are all about:)

Fred is right. Low interest from the major players and it has dwindled to low interest over the past few years. Although I will be in Ohio that weekend, I will not be attending. I have no need for gutter covers, bath tube liners or car chamois right now

I agree it may be worthwhile as a first trip.

I get paid every two weeks, and you can guess which week the show will be in. No check, no go. And, it is only 65 miles away….

So, how was it? Paul Sellers was there, I really enjoy his you tube videos. I live in Columbus but didn’t get to go because I was sick as a dog :(

I used to go to the Columbus show when I lived there. First time it was huge and really nice, next year it was smaller, next year it was smaller yet. I quit going.
Moved to Tampa, same show same exhibitors same faces. I went yesterday and it was the same old thing except prices went up. Wife and I are going today to meet someone from LJ’s. This will probably be my last time.
@ shelly_b. Hope you enjoyed your trip.
