Sup folks,

I just got a new Veritas Large Shoulder plane yesterday, i noticed something different on it from my other Veritas planes; there isn’t a microbevel on it from the factory.

Is a microbevel something you shouldn’t normally have on a shoulder plane?

Thanks!

Ev

I would think given the low angle and infrequency of sharpening, a single bevel would work well.

I would not put a micro/secondary bevel on a shoulder plane.

Well, I would hollow grind it as I usually grind plane
irons and hone a single bevel.
