Ok. I am a new wood worker, only doing it about 3 months. However, I am the kind of person who jumps into something and researches everything I can. Thanks to an estate sale of a 40 year veteran woodworker in my area, I was able to outfit my shop decently well with a lot of used equipment for not much money. So I have a 12” AMT 2 HP table saw. It is contractor style with a thick cast iron top. It was fine before, but I recently attached a nice aftermarket fence and rail to it. After I was all done, the blade-to-table alignment is off by 1/16 an inch, with the back of the blade closer to the miter slot then the front. I cannot fathom why, since I did not change anything in there. All that was done was it was set down on it’s side, and rails were bolted to the front and back. No matter how much I loosen and try to adjust the trunion bolts, I cannot get it to move or budge. I have tried everything I can think of. Anyone have any suggestions? Now my table saw is unusable and very unsafe, and I cannot afford a new one. I don’t have manuals on the table saw, and the AMT (American Machine Tools?) company has long been out of business. |
