I have recently completed my retrofit of a riving knife to my old Unisaw. It’s a true RK, rising and falling in unison with the blade, and tilting, etc. I’d like to do a write up on what I did, and how I did it, with pbotos. Question is, what is the best forum to put this in? Project (but it’s not a “woodworking” project)? Blog? If this interests you, where would you like to see it?

Please, please post it to a blog, with step by step instructions and really good pictures!

I too would love to see this in a blog or write-up as a project. I think you will see great interest as this has been discussed many times.

Scissorrunner….

I would love to see your retrofit write up. I have just moved my unisaw to the new shop and have yet to set it up. I would be a great time to incorporate a true riving knife. I Appreciate your willingness to share you’re experience and the installation/information. Please blog.

Well, I put it in a blog. But Photobuck had me bamboozled. All my photos came out chopped off, and the text is gone. I don’t know how much useful info anybody can get out of the remaining shots. If you want an explanation of any of the photos, I’ll do my best to answer.

Photobucket frustrated me no end. Does anybody know of a better app for this purpose? One that will keep the photos in the order I select, that will actually let me change the order when I click on the “organize” button, that will retain the text I add? I know a lot of you guys use it without problems, or at least your posts look that way.

Maybe the problem is I use a Mac.

Redone photos are posted. I made an end run around photobucket. Opened iPhoto, exported to documents, opened blog, selected individual images on the documents page, clicked “choose” in lower right corner, clicked import this image in the blog page. Added text after all the pics were in place. Easier done than said.

You don’t need photobucket or anything else to upload photos to lumberjocks. You can upload directly from your computer.

Click img , choose file and insert.

Thanks, I did eventually figure this out. I guess I got hung up on the frequent references I see to Photobucket in LJ posts.

Have your say...
