Topic tags/keywords: uploading images videos dick

There are so many image, & video uploading sites, & I’m looking for the one that is easy to use , & gives the best results.
I’d like some input from you Lumberjocks, as to why you chose the system you have.

Dick -

I’m certainly not an expert in this area, but I how I approach image and video posting. I use a Mac laptop and use the onboard software for most of my work (iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD & iWeb). Sometimes I also use Adobe PhotoShop (images) and Apple Final Cut (video). I use a Nikon digital SLR or a Sony digital point-and-shoot for digital images and a Sony digital video camera. I do a lot of digital graphic work for fun and for work.

Digital Images
I post my digital images on my personal website in a seperate non public area. I then use my webesite as a host for posting images on LumberJocks. I chose this over the other photo hosting sites because it was easier for me and I already had the account.

Video Content
As for video content, I have used my personal website blog, as well as, BlipTV for hosting content posted on LumberJocks. I did not like YouTube – no specifics, just did not appreciate the interface.

Hope this helps!

I’ve been using brightcove.com for video and photobucket.com for stills. Brightcove has an easy interface and a does a nice job of compressing the video. It also make it easy to put the html in any posts you make.

I’m using http://www.Flickr.com and it works great for me. You can upload 6 pictures at a time and it has lots of features that I have yet to explore. It is the only site I have tried.

Thanks Guys.
I’ll be checking these out, & I hope I get some more feedback from others.

I’ve been using Allyoucanupload for images, & it works real good, But I’m looking for the best one for videos.

I have been using Photobucket. You can create slideshows, host videos, (even though I don’t have any) and upload 10-15 at a time. The have the urls and you just click on it and it is copied, so it makes it easier to post. You have about 5-6 options for resizing a picture which makes it very easy. There is not a useful way to crop a photo so I just use Microsoft Picture Manager for that task.

and then there’s Picasa – and I do think I was able to post a pix finally from it. I was using the wrong code. I think.
Maybe lol
here: let’s try
(the chair)
of course, now I forget which code it was that I used last time!! argh.
Picasa also will take videos (unless you are a MAC user at this time)

Thanks Debbie,
I didn’t mention that I’ve been using Picasa ,but there’s something about it I don’t like, but really don’t know what it is I don’t like about it.
How about that for an explanation. LOL

I am using flickr.com. If you download their uploader software, you can upload unlimited photos. You just drag the photos to the uploader and hit upload. Simple!

I have used youtube and blip.tv and found the blip video to look a little nicer and upload quicker.
