I don’t venture into the off topic forum much, but had to share this. I got up this morning shaved, showered, brushed my hair, cleaned my ears, brushed my teeth, took my blood pressure pill, got dressed for work, checked the charge and clipped my phone to my belt. While fumbling for my shoes in the dark, I noticed that my wife’s clock said 1:36am…I shrugged and thought her clock must have stopped. Then I looked over at my clock…..1:31am! What the heck!? Is this for real?! I turned my alarm back on, and climbed back in bed fully clothed for another 3 hours of sleep. I’ve done a little sleep walking and talking before, but nothing this elaborate. I did a fine job shaving, etc., and everything looked normal when I got up for real. I remember the whole thing in great detail, and remember feeling a little sleepier than normal…it’s scary to think about how close I was to driving in my sleep. I’m so glad I didn’t get as far as drinking my coffee in my sleep, or I would have never gone back to bed! Really a weird feeling….a bit unsettling too. -- Happiness is like wetting your pants...everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.... |

Sure you where asleep? Sounds like you got up and ready for work before you realized what time it was. I got to work one day and couldn’t find out why the office was locked. Finally figured out I wasn’t late, looked at my clock wrong and I was almost an hour early ;-)) -- "some old things are lovely, warm still with life ... of the forgotten men who made them." - D.H. Yes, I think you just misread the clock in the first place! LOL So, instead of having a “sleep walking” problem, it may be that of an “eyesight” problem! LOL Glad everything went OK… Just think, you might have been hot to go on a project in the Shop using the TS, etc. etc. which really coulda been DANGEROUS! -- Have Fun! A truck driver once told me he had been driving 14-16 hour days. One night on the way home, he stopped and picked up a 6 pack of beer. Last thing he remembeedr was opening a beer as he entered the freeway. When he woke up, he was 20 miles past his exit, there were 2 empty bottles and he was mowing down the snow markers along the left side of the highway. Guess that doesn’t count as sleep walking though. -- "some old things are lovely, warm still with life ... of the forgotten men who made them." - D.H. Lawrence Wake Up America!! ”Sure you where asleep?....” No…it didn’t feel like I was asleep, but my alarm never went off, and have no idea what made me think it was time to get up and get ready. I’m going to bed early tonight….believe it or not, I was tired all day! ....can’t wait to see what happens next! -- Happiness is like wetting your pants...everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.... |

Maybe this whole day has been a very long and detailed dream and you are still asleep now. Have you tried pinching yourself? -- I was walking down the street, something caught my eye, and dragged it 15 feet. |

Well knotscot, I bet there are many of us around who have done the same. In some dreams I have been a winner. :-) It’s nice to have a place on LJs where you can share these little happenings, and also fins out that you are not crazy. lol -- Roger-R, Republic of Texas. sleep walking isnt that bad you get to live twice ? lol my sister slept walked, cooked asleep, drove asleep, made meals asleep, and most folks who met her whilst in her “dream” didnt even know she was asleep ? its strange stuff, where the present is clouded but awake….. the twilight zone ? people tell me that when I am sleep, as soundly as my kids in the next bed, that my children carry on we carry on conversations and the awake can participate ? -- "Good artists borrow, great artists steal”…..Picasso |

I worked shift work for most of 20 some years then worked construction for 15 where my commute usually started about 3:30 am. Last ten years never used an alarm clock, internal clock always woke me up. Never late. I’ve been retired for two years and have just in the last three months been able to sleep past 5am.
