I was recently given a PC 4212 DT jig as a birthday gift (yeah!) and am looking at routers to use with it. I have an older Hitachi M12V, but I use the beast in a router table I recently built. Leaning toward the Bosch 1617EVSPK combo router for all my out-of-table needs. I’ve never used a DT jig; I’m basically familiar with how they operate, but I’m concerned about how/if the PC guide bushings that came with the jig will fit this Bosch router, or if I’ll need any adapters for them . Anyone know?

Thanks

Dan

In case anyone else has the need, apparently this adapter does the trick http://www.theboschstore.com/bosch/ra1100.html

That adapter does work, but with a common problem. When you use that adapter, you are basically completely blocked from any view of the bit. It’s like routing with your eyes closed. I use the same router and adapter with a PC Omnijig. I finally got a clear acrylic base for the Bosch router that was made to take PC guide bushings with no adapter. You’ll need the adapter, it comes in handy, but for use with a dovetail jig, you won’t be able to see anything at all.

Thanks for the reply. Did you make the acrylic base, or did you buy it? If the latter, what is the brand, etc?

I bought it from Pat Warner. Here It’s under the round subbase section. It will save you from buying the adapter if you don’t want to. I actually already had it, knowing that you needed it for PC bushings, but the clear base made it far easier to use them.

Pat is very easy to deal with and I got the base within a few days. Price was fair and better for me than trying to make it
