I’m new to the forum but have come to lumberjocks many times for all the great information. I’m a new woodworker and I don’t have the room (yet) for a lathe of my own. I need some 2” walnut dowels turned to a certain ID and depth. If this is the wrong forum to ask this please let me know, I didn’t see another “work needed” section.

I don’t need many done (10) at various lengths. If anyone is interested I can give drawings and more accurate dimensions to quote on. I have the dowels already in 2”. PM me if interested.

Dave, post your location and you’ll get better responses. See who is close to you. Also, you don’t need a lathe. It can be done on a router as well.

Oh sorry, I’m in Brooklyn NY but I’ll ship the dowels anywhere in the states if the price is right.

I don’t have access to many machines at this time (no router access either). I figured a lathe would be more accurate but of course I’m new to woodworking and don’t know much yet. I do have ideas/designs and I really want to get this prototype project moving forward. I haven’t had much luck with machining companies as they want runs of 500 or more! Any help would be appreciated.

Try contacting the Makeville Studio in Brooklyn. Looks like its a hands on facility where you can do the work. I did not read enough if they turn, but if not I bet they know someone. Good luck.
