I am starting a business in Northern Ca. I have bought a new Timberking 2200 and have access to large amounts of Doug fir and Ceder. How do I get competitive prices for beam wood? I will be able to cut up to 30 ft. long in all sizes.

I am not sure what you’re asking.

I would like some prices of what lumber is going for in N. Ca, per 1000 bd. ft. dougas fir and red ceder

Call contractors and local sawmills. It can vary greatly in all areas.

Determine who could be your competitors and then call them and ask what they will sell you 1000bf of fir for. Don’t tell them you want to compete with them.

It will also depend on if your douglas fir and red cedAr are kiln dried or not. However you won’t get the price that a lumber yard sells at, just the prices the mills sell at… there’s a difference.

your a small mill just getting your name out .seems like your sales will be mostly on craigs list ??? that would seem right to me if i was starting out . would seem the best price being that mills will be a larger quanity but lower price .
then again how often t\do i buy 1000 brdft of ungraded lumber . Still craiglist is a good way to gauge price .I am told there are little mills all over N-cal question is how to find then so you still need to get yourself known . Do a search in bay area craiglist .might even do a post to see if you can get bites at that price . your better money is in the bay area .question how to get people to buy your lumber . hope that helped some
