A few days ago I posted a request on the Hand Plane of Your Dreams forum to some of my buddies to help out if they could. I was thinking maybe I could squeeze out maybe a combined 50 dollars or so.
The response was overwhelming. And we are now at 21% of our goal to cover Jesse’s medical costs so he can just focus on surviving this. I cannot thank you guys enough for your prayers and support.
My fellow jocks JayT and waho6o9 both auctioned off planes and gave 100% of the money to the cause.
I now have another fellow jock, who wishes to remain anonymous, contact me wanting to do the same.
So here she is, a very nice little Sweetheart #3, type 13 rosewood knob and tote are in really nice shape. He has agreed to pay for the shipping as well, so 100% of your bid will go to Jesse and family.
Bidding will be done anonymously through PM. Auction will be for 2 full days and will end Monday evening at 8 pm west coast time. I will update this thread with the current high bid.
A few years ago Jesse wasn’t feeling right, all kinds of weird symptoms. After a lot of tests and even a trip to the MAYO clinic in Minnesota. Jesse was diagnosed with a rare but treatable (in theory) disease called Polycythemia Vera in October of 2011. Basically his blood over-produces platelets, making his blood too thick and susceptible to clots. He began medication and getting weekly phlebotomies to thin out his blood. For the most part Jesse began to feel better. Until about a month ago.
Jesse began swelling up uncontrollably, everywhere..arms legs, face, he kinda looked like he was just gonna explode. It was really scary. Family doctor couldn’t figure it out, sent him to the ER. After tons more tests they still couldn’t figure out was was going on, they would drain the fluid from his chest, and he would puff right back up like a balloon. Tons more tests, they still couldn’t tell us what was wrong other than that his liver was failing. When his condition continued deteriorating they sent Jess to University hospital in Denver.
Tons more tests and a whole bunch more doctors scratching their heads. It was seriously like a real life episode of House. Team of like 9 young doctors surrounding a white board with all Jesse’s symptoms on a bubble chart just throwing out ideas. Complete with like three misdiagnosis, one for cirrhosis of the liver and a doctor being all accusing about his drinking habits.
Ended up diagnosing Jesse with Budd-chiari Syndrome a complication of his blood disorder. Basically a blockage that prevents blood from flowing out of the liver and back to the heart, causing liver damage beyond repair. Jesse is now on the transplant list waiting for “new robot parts” That’s what they are telling their boys Cameron(5) and Eligh(3).
After weeks in the hospital with no end in site, Jesse unable to work, his wife Jeni 7 months pregnant with their 3rd and medical bills starting to roll in, we stared a fundraiser to try and help take the financial stress out of the equation for Jesse and Jeni.
Again, we cannot thank you enough for the out-pouring of generosity and love we’ve already received. God bless you.
