So as a follow up to my thread HERE , I am now the proud owner of a LN #4 and low angle block plane. I appreciate all the feedback I got and the final determining factor was LN being made in the USA, and nothing against any other company.

I liked the idea of getting a used workhorse and I have DonW’s page bookmarked for future purchases. I wanted a little something more than a plane on this purchase. As I mentioned, the funds for this came from a rather large and unexpected bonus at work, so I wanted something I could look back at 20 yrs from now and remember the hard work.

..Hence me going a little overboard and getting the bronze version =)

Congrats! They even have a nice soft place to sleep! I’d kick my wife out of bed and let the new LN’s have her spot too!

You won’t need the pillow. It’s ok to set them directly on wood. Letting the wife back is optional.
