Probably not exactly the answer you’re lucky for, but i’ve had great luck with buying the walnut/maple/cherry plywood from Home Depot and having it shipped to me. The price isnt bad and I’ve been impressed w/ the quality. |

You live in some of the best hardwood country in the USA and you have to ask about where to get it? I bet you didn’t even check in the yellow pages or something like “Hardwood Suppliers NEar Greensboro, NC” in Google. We don’t mind helping with the homework, but you really need to make some effort on your own. -- Improvise.... Adapt...... Overcome! |

Lexxx07, One of the best places I’ve found in that area is The Hardwood Store in Gibsonville, NC. (between Burlington and Greensboro). They have a nice selection of sheet goods, hardwoods and exotic woods. They are great to work with and very helpful. You can go out in the warehouse and pick lumber yourself. Jeff is the manager, Cheryl helps in sales and Hill is the owner of the business. When you go in, ask for any one of them. I’ve dealt with them for years. Just tell them John from The Hufford Furniture Group sent you; not that it will get you a better deal , but just to let them know I’m still thinking of them. hardwoodstore.com/ -- John @ http://www.thehuffordfurnituregroup.com |

Ditto the advice for The Hardwood Store in Gibsonville. Another great supplier is Wall Lumber up in Mayodan, NC. Both businesses operate with integrity and you can buy from them with confidence. -- Scott, North Carolina, www.quartersawnoak.com |

The best places for pricing is Musser lumber in Greensboro located at 7600 Boeing Dr. Talk to Glenn, the VP. He is a great guy. The hardwood store in Gibsonville is also a great place. It’s laid out in more of a retail type feel than is Musser and is easier to select your wood. It’s a little more expensive but the ease might be worth it to you. Their selection is very good, especially for more exotic type woods and they are definitely less expensive than Woodcraft. Check Musser first, though. I buy all my wood from them and the Hardwood store. |
