Hello.Glad to have found this site, since I love to do small carpentry and wood projects.
I just bought a Black & Decker Super Saw Cat,9 1/4” circular saw.It has a polished case
with an aluminum base. This thing is heavy and in almost unused condition.I’ve been searching
the web for this particular model, but have had no luck.Only could find the 7 1/4 & 8” models.
I didn’t see a model# on the tag,just Catalog #999.It’s 13 amps,3900 RPM,and has the Black
& Decker sticker on the blade guard and the name B&D super saw cat on the case tag.Could
anybody out there tell me what year Black & Decker made this model and are there any parts
to be had.I thought I might stock up on some spare parts such as brushes, trigger switch, etc.
Also this model has the blade brake that seems to operate some how with the motor brushes.
Any body have some info they could share with me to help decide if this is a good quality
saw,one I could depend on for years to come. Thanks for any response

I have a vintage Black and Decker 9 1/4” Super Sawcat Circular Saw Type 3032. Just needs brushes of which I will get around to install.

Wondering how much it is worth in today’s market. It is in great shape,

Post pictures, that might help. At any rate, many people here love to see pictures of vintage power tools, myself included.

Just found this: Not sure if it would offer any help, but it sure is a sweet saw. I’d love to find one to restore it to that level.

I have a BD 9 1/4 inch super sawcat…...... runs well and has seen a lot of use. Needs new spring on guard but otherwise complete. Bought new in 1975 for about $150. Gears need to be greased regularly on this model.

Have your say...
