Good Morning folks. I’ve not posted in awhile since starting this Barn removal. Here are a coupl dof current pictures. The area in front of the barn is now totally clean. This week I will take down the rest of the barn and start the process again to reclaim the wood. I just thought some of you may be interested in the pictures here. and here is one stack of some pieces that are anywhere from 3ft to 20 ft that I just put up for sale on our local craigslist. http://s198.photobucket.com/albums/aa226/sacratez/Barn%20wood%20for%20sale/

When you think about how these structures were built, the number of people and the time, it is amazing that you are making such progress dissassembling it. Wishing you continued success on this project.

Thanks folks for the kind remarks. Lew it is mostly Oak. There is some Yellow Poplar mixed in though. I have yet to see any pine anywhere in the barn. I tell ya though, there are some great pieces I have already brought home. Some nice 2×12 x14’s.

Wow, that looks dangerous! How are you bringing down the roof?

Looks like a lot of nice lumber though.

That is one heap of lumber Jerry. It must be like playing fiddle sticks, which piece do you take off first or do you have a crane?.

Hello folks, No crane grumpt. Just some chains and a winch and a couple of come-a-longs. I pull some main supports at the bottom in the center and then pull key 2×12 floor supports and then the side supports. The flooring and roof come straight down if I do it correctly and then the right outside wall will fall onto the roof and the right outside wall will fall away. So far every thing has stayed intact with minimal damage any of the wood with exception to any rotten or bad wood. It’s pretty neat to watch it go. Today I start my rigging to to drop the rest of the barn. There is about 75% of it still standing. I plan to drop it all on Wednesday.
