Stanley likes to confuse us by re-using the same numerical ID on two totally different products. Like this week, an LJ asked about a #C72 as a possible first restoration project. There was some concern about a first-time restorer ruining a rare #72 chamfer plane, when it was in fact a cheapie #4 marketed as a #c72 hardware store plane. I’m seeking a #95 edge/tenoning plane on eBay, but I keep getting listings for #95 butt-gauges. Sheesh! Mosquito added that he has a #49... but it’s not a molding plane, it’s an augur bit stop! LukieB has a #62, but it’s a folding rule, not a cool low-angle plane! I have a #60, but not a low-angle block plane, it too is a folding rule! Mafe has a #55 , no it’s not the uber-rare legendary multi-plane, it’s a spoke shave! -- Einstein: "The intuitive mind is a sacred gift, and the rational mind is a faithful servant.
