I had to go out this morning and when I returned home there was a letter in the mail box from Lee Valley.
Oh, oh, what did I do wrong?
Well early June I purchased a Stronghold chuck for my lathe. Apparently in the new catalogue the price is reduced ( I didn’t look, I already have one). Lee Valley sent me a cheque for the difference including taxes.
Their good customer service has been discussed before but I was still taken aback.
Three guesses where I’ll be spending it.

I’ve always had great experience with them, but this is really above and beyond!

I had the same thing happen to me. A couple of days ago, I got a letter from Lee Valley (I thought I didn’t something wrong or something was on backorder, because I just placed on order with them). Inside was a check and a note saying the price on the metal detector that I bought has changed in the new catalog and here is your refund.

Thank you Lee Valley!!! I’m one happy customer and I will always do business with them.

Robin Lee told me that they do that, when I interviewed him last year… but that’s the first “real life” story that I’d heard.. very cool!!!

Way cool! I am even more impressed with Lee Valley now. I hope they read this and know that their customer base is really impressed.

Then add to the mix the tool innovation from the Veritas line, plus the gardening and hardware lines. Lee Valley is just superb. I even think the ad copy in the catalogue is a cut above, and sprinkled throughout there are helpful hints and factoids. If you aren’t on their distribution list, you should enroll.

I bought the router bit jack back in the day’s when Robin’s dad was still the president. On getting it home I discovered the side lock handles on the jack would not clear the housing of my router. I returned the jack along with the suggestion the jack housing be threaded to accept the side locks from either side of the jack housing. Lo & behold, I receive a package some weeks later with a new bit jack threaded as suggested no charge. For me Santa had arrived early that year.
