I recently bought a Delta hybrid TS and it came with the Delta heavy duty miter guage. I cannot get the thing to make true 90 degree cuts. The miter guage seems awsome, but it has about 2-degrees in either direction of 90 of slop in it. I have tightened all the screws and nuts, but the thing still wobbles on the saw. Has anyone figured out how to better use it?

where is the slop? in the bar?? (would think that 2 degrees would be unlikely) in the pivot?? (maybe a bushing missing?? in the locking screw?? (probably not in the locking screw)

I actually have two…(I got a replacement saw from Delta ans it came complete with a second miter guage and fence system (which is for sale)) the bar across the front is attached to a 45 degree bar that connects to the back of the miter bar. the whole thing sort of moves. both of them do the same thing…

Is this the miter guage you have?

Lumberjock review

Review from amazon: I purchased this miter thinking it would be a solid accurate platform for making 45’s and 90 degree miters. What a disappointment! After putting it together, it took several attempts to get to “0” on the eccentric adjustment. However, no amount of adjustment removed the sloppiness of the fit in the miter groove on my Unisaw. The miter backstop is not stable and moves around at least 2 ot 3 degrees depending on which end you hold it. It is impossible to make accurate miters.

That is the one. I find it very inaccurate. I did some real testing last night, I made about 40 crosscuts on 1×4 white pine and roughly half came out at 90 degrees, the others all showed a noticeable gap when measured with my starrett square. There is a lot of play in the device. The back pin holding the 45 degree bar to the back of the miter bar wobbles and cannot be tightened. The screw on the front of that 45 degree bar is also sloppy and cannot be tightened. The rail that holds the work piece also wobbles where it is connected to the miter bar….... I am going to have to make a decision to purchase a more accurate miter gauge…any suggestions???
