This listing was just posted on Little Rock CL. Nice Gerstner International Oak Tool Box with Matching Tool Chest for $500. Looks like a good deal to me. Just thought someone in the area could give it a nice home in a work shop before it gets repurposed as a jewelry box. I doubt this listing will last very long.

BTW, this is not mine nor for anyone I know. It just looks like a great deal for someone near it, and the pictures do the tool chest and box proud. I just checked and it’s still a live listing.

I have seen that posted twice now, but I’m saving my tax return for a new Jointer otherwise I’d probably hop on it.

I still hope someone can give this tool chest a proper home. If it’s still for sale when I go to Little Rock in mid-March on business, it just might come home with me.

If that was within 300 miles of me, it would be mine.

Looks like this CL as has been removed. Likely someone got a great deal on some beautiful Gerstner workshop furniture.

Please keep in mind that Gerstner International is not the real deal. They are made overseas and I doubt that they are of the same quality as the originals that are still made in Dayton, Ohio. These can be found here.

Gerstner International are imported by the original company to reach a lower price point.

I’m not knocking the quality as I do not know for sure, just want everyone to be informed.

@PittsburghTim—Thanks for the info. I did note that Gerstner International is a division of H. Gerstner & Sons, Inc. I am sure that, with the affiliation to the parent company, that they would stand behind the product branded with the parent company’s name. Your caution is well-taken and noted. Thanks again.

BTW, it looks like, from the Gerstner International website, that the top case sells new for $359 and the bottom tool chest sells for $719 new, for a total new price of $1,078. The $500 asking price was slightly below half of new cost, which was a pretty reasonable starting point for negotiations. I just hope the purchaser was aware that this was not the domestic company of H. Gerstner and Sons, Inc. that manufactured those units.

Shout out to LJ PittsburghTim for posting that info.
