Topic tags/keywords: shop fox bench jointer w1829 co-planar table adjustment question

Hello,

I have the Shopfox W1829 Bench Jointer. I have had it about a month, but am just seriously getting in to using it. I have noticed that the infeed and outfeed table are not quote co-planar. The instruction manual does not seem to have any steps to adjust this. I can look in to the mechanism and see what appears to be jack screws, but I’m afraid to start messing with them until I know for sure what they do.

Unlike some of the other bench jointers, the tables on this one are not bolted on. The table casting goes all the way down in to include the mechanism that slides on the height adjustment block. The outfeed table is completely non-adjustable.

Has anyone with the similar machine (also made by Grizzly, Powertec) found a way to adjust the tables?

Thanks,
Brian

Ok so I got impatient and started turning screws. I got it working. Check out my blog entry here:

I hope since there isn’t much info on these bench units out there, this will help someone.
