Good Deal on Jointer?

That sounds like a decent deal to me. It’s 200$ less (if you factor shipping) than the cheapest grizzly. You can get a shelix head for just about any jointer. If they don’t have something specific listed, call them and they can make one.

That’s a fine deal. See if you can negotiate it down, but I wouldn’t feel bad about paying $325. That should be the only jointer you need…until you need an 8 inch jointer.

You will be suprised how often you use the jointer. You will be happy you spent the money.

I have been looking for a longer bed jointer, so I have been watching for good deals and checking on the Delta status. From what I see around here the previous model Delta (before the x5 can’t remember the model #) seem to be going for 225 to 250. The x5’s I have never seen come available, but I can’t believe 325 isn’t reasonable.

As far as the helical cutter being available, I have some serious doubts. I have serious doubts about Delta as a whole. The replacement blades are only available from an after-market company, so you can see this is some cause for concern.
