Topic tags/keywords: band saw bandsaw advice on purchase

This 14” floor model King Machinery bandsaw is up for sale at a giveaway price. It is 25 years old and appears to be in good condition, except for a broken part on the blade guide. The plate says it is made in Taiwan. Anyone know anything about King Machinery or the likelihood of finding a part? Thanks.

No chance of finding a part. Parts from Grizzly or Harbor
Freight might fit.

I don’t own a band saw like that. I can’t seem like to find any information on the internet. Did you get the correct model no. for it?

The model number on the plate is 0380-119. The logo is a crown and it says King Machinery Los Angeles St. Louis.
I cannot find anything about the company except one reference on another WW site, which probably actually refers to King Canada.

from that picture, it looks like a old ridgid/delta 14” one… Umm maybe the 14” standard parts could fit on that?

I made some research on the internet and I found different models of King bandsaws. I have no doubt now that
you have a King bandsaw, it has similarities with the other unit but got no information still. Perhaps, there could be alternative parts like what Alex suggested or call King machinery. I knew a site where they have specialty for blade guides.

I just purchased a used King bandsaw almost exactly like the one you are describing. Mine is model 0380-120. Same name plate as you site – US company with machine made in Taiwan. I tried researching this company on the web without success so far. However, in my process I looked around at the King Canada site. It appears to me that their model KC-514B/C is the same machine. I called King Canada and they say that they have nothing to do with the King US company. However, I highly suspect that both companies have ordered the same machine from the same manufacturer in Taiwan. Check out the service manual at http://www.kingcanada.com/Files/KC-514B-C_service_manual.pdf and see if you agree. I think they are the exact same machines with only minor differences (on my King US machine the set screws for the blade guides are allen screws while the model shown use thumb screws – an improvement in my mind).
