Topic tags/keywords: bandsaw powermatic 143

I wwent to see one of the vendors for my company and noticed a green blotch in the corner. I didnt think much of it until later. I asked the owner about it, not much response but the sales woman informed me that she was the actual owner. I asked what she would ask for it, her reply was “Pick it up next time you’re in the shop and make me something nice for my new house”

Can you say score?

1966 Powermatic 143.
100% American Iron and heavy enough to hurt the backs of two grown men unloading it out of the back of the truck.

I’m thinking about a refurb but it’s pretty much good to go as is. I find myself torn between a legit powermatic green and fire engine red with a white flame job…...........

Yeah Cosmic, I could see how that would get old.

Don, I just got assigned the NE territory. Whats the going rate to learn how to use a plane? Cause as cosmic has pointed out I SUCK. I own a hand plane and I know it is supposed to be pleasure to use but I only end up cussing.

Beauty. I might have to track you down and berate you mercilessly if you put flames on that 143, though.

It’s funny I didnt have a problem spraying my planer bright red but I just cant come to grips with painting anything but green. Maybe I could polish the wheels? At least I could open the doors and still have some shine

That’s definitely worth gloating over. I wouldn’t repaint it though.

She’s a beaut and really good catch.
Looks like all it needs is a light cleaning and a coat of wax buffed out and she will shine.

Oh yeah and You SUCK. lol
Hope you didnt hurt your back too bad.
