One of the ways a magnet is rated is the amount of “pull” then have, as measured in pounds. I was wondering how much “pull” the magnets on the MagSwitch have. I was thinking of making my own and needed to know how strong of magnets to buy.

I think the MagSwitch magnets are 75 pounds each, and they have two magnets on the body of the device. I would not go to court to swear on the 75 pounds per magnet though.

Google Magswitch and go to their website. They have magnets of different strengths. Places like Lee Valley will sell you the magnets separately.
